Met Command and Control (MetCC) provides London with its police response service, handling some 13,000 emergency and non-emergency phone calls and 12,000 interactions via our digital platforms 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Specialist police communications support is also provided for some 500 large-scale public events that take place across the capital each year. Naturally this means we have a fast-paced dynamic environment, where no two days will be the same.
We are looking for great people to join our team throughout 2023.
You will be customer-focussed and professional, have attention to detail and a calm head under pressure. Above all, you’ll have the drive and determination to make a difference to the communities of London. With the volume of requests handled through our teams each day, the importance of these roles can never be underestimated.

Do you have a say in where and when you work?
All new staff will be expected to work full time for the first 26 weeks for one of our core teams. After this period you may submit a flexible working application to work part-time. However this process can take a further three months from the date of submission. Please note all requests for flexible working are assessed on a case by case basis and must meet the business need for approval. This review process may take some time and is not guaranteed.
You will be required to work a 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, variable shift pattern. This includes nights and public holidays. We support flexible working, but as an emergency service with a 24 hours a day, seven days a week responsibility to the people of London, flexible working may not always be possible. You can ask questions about this during the recruitment process at either our assessment centre, or during our online 'meet and engage' sessions.
The normal working hours are 36 hours per week, full time, excluding breaks. Working a shift pattern does give you a shift disturbance allowance and flexibility allowance. We’ll discuss this further with you during the recruitment process.
We have vacancies across our three locations:
During the recruitment process, you'll be asked questions about where you’d like to be posted. Your posting will be confirmed once a final offer is accepted and is subject to your successful completion of training.
We cannot guarantee that we can place you where you want as operational requirements will inform where we need to post new joiners. However, we will try to work with your preference where possible. On occasion, there may be a requirement for you to work at other locations based on operational need.
Please note, there is no parking available any of the MetCC centres, only in exceptional circumstances.
